Training Camp Starts This Week!

January 4th, 2009 · No Comments

Sort of.

But first let me explain the reason for my hiatus. I took the “Off Season” as it were a bit more serious than I originally intended to and while I didn’t stop training all together I did slow way, way down.

In fact I did very little during the month of December. Just enough to keep most of my base, but that was about it.

So since I was doing much, I wasn’t very inspired to write much. I will try to get back into the habit though and posting at least a little something each week.

I did, however, manage to build up my endurance just a bit more during that time though and managed to get up to a 5 mile run. That will help since Shelly has decided that I will be attempting an Olympic distance Tri this year.

She is the coach and the boss, so I guess I have no choice but to listen to her.

So I’ve already started to look at the year ahead and plan out my races. Shelly and I have found that whether it is a Tri or a 5k, having a race picked out and planned really helps us stay focused with our training.

And with that thought in mind, our training camp (of sorts) starts this week with the first of our Tri-Fit classes.

So once again it is off to the WAC every Thursday night to get beat up.

Later,
John W.
