I’m hoping it won’t be as hard as I think it will be!
Don’t get me wrong, I’ve learned the value of taking some time off from training to allow you to recoup. But I’ve really poured it on these last two weeks and I now I have to back it way down.
And I know that Shelly is going to be keeping a close eye on me as well.
I have a few things in mind that will hopefully help make the week go a little smoother. So, we’ll see.
In the meantime, here is where things stand;
The pool at the WAC opened early so I was able to get a couple of more swims in at the end of the week and this weekend. In fact, on Saturday I was able to get another mile in.
Shelly helped me change a few things on my swim stroke and I now have my 50 time down to a consistent 1:05. FINALLY an easy way to count laps, because everything else that I was trying wasn’t working.
Any way, that change has made it a lot easier for me to just keep going (no pun intended) and crank out the laps.
So my swim time is good, but as of right now the beach is still closed. So it’s wait and see if we do a triathlon on a duathlon.
Tune in next week to find out.
My swim is pretty strong and I feel that I should be sub 15 for a time there.
My bike is as good as it can get with the old grocery getter and based on the last few timed rides that I’ve had I should finish right around the 1 hour mark.
And my run continues to improve and with some luck I’m thinking that I can come in under the 35 minute mark.
So it will all depend on how long my transitions take.
My overall goal is to hopefully come in under 2 hours all total. And yes, 1:59:59 will work just fine for me!
Later,
John W.
