It’s amazing what a difference a year can make. I know that I keep saying that, but it really is true. For instance, last year that first bike ride that I went on (after taking almost 20 years off) was a long, grueling, and torturous 3 miles.
It felt like it would never end and I felt like I would never recover from it.
Well, fast forward to this weekend and despite all the rain that was predicted but never came (I love it when the weather men are wrong), we had some awesome weather.
So Shelly and I took advantage of that and went on a bike ride yesterday morning. When we got back the next door neighbor was out and he commented about how great the weather finally was. I agreed with the exception that it was still a little cold on the bikes, but nothing that clothes couldn’t make up for.
He asked how far we rode and I replied “It was a short ride, we only went 10 miles.”
You can probably already guess, his response was 10 Miles! That doesn’t sound like a short ride to me.
Which; after I thought about a little later in the day really made me laugh, I would have thought that 10 miles was a long ride myself last year.
