The Streak Ends

January 27th, 2008 · No Comments

You know what they say; although I’m always curious who “They” are because they sure are quoted a lot, but I digress. All good things, or streaks, must come to an end.

And so, I’m bummed to say that after 132 days straight of getting out there and walking with the Girls, that streak has ended.

It wasn’t rain, it wasn’t the snow or even the cold that finally kept me on the sidelines. It was the stomach flu, it hit me hard late Saturday night and had me hard down for all of Sunday.

So not only is this late, it’s not the original post that I was planning on.

But on a positive note, as Shelly pointed out, I have made it through a good part of the winter without getting seriously sick. And I was able to bounce back a lot faster than I used to be able to. I was only hard down for one day, in comparison in the past something like this would have had me down and out for 3-4 days.

I think I like this health stuff.

>One other thing worth noting; we generally walk a 1.25 or a 1.5 mile walk. Occasionally we’ll drop that down to 1 mile because of time or weather. So if I use the 1.25 mile as an average, that means over the last few months we walked about 165 miles!

I think I’m tired now!

Later,
